Service Auction

The service auction is an annual flagship event organized by the MPAs to raise money for a local charity - the Isles Institute in Trenton in recent years. It’s usually held just before Skit Night and students, faculty, alumni and local businesses donate different items and the whole SPIA community bids on these items to raise money for a good cause!

The event includes a raffle, silent and live auction and the auction items range from faculty parties hosted at their Princeton mansions, lunches/dinners with celebrated Alumni or faculty (like Nobel prize winners!), souvenirs and goods from all over the world (typically brought from policy workshops and internships), delicious student-cooked meals  spanning different cuisines of the world and many more items. The spirit of giving (and getting into fun bidding wars between 1s and 2s!) really makes the auction a unique way to end the fall semester and kick off Skit Night with a great sense of SPIA community.

So come prepared to volunteer and be a part of the organizing committee, think of creative auction items, save your stipend money to donate to a good cause (what’s skipping a few coffees at Schultz and all those free lunches for, after all?) and strategize to get your dream auction item!
